Next four years, airspace saturation will lead to future air navigation systems implementation (CNS/ATM) based on satellite techniques. They will have to be, according to ICAO recommendations, implemented about by 2010.
In this prospect, national territory Radar coverage will be object of total evolution towards the“S mode” and telecommunications network will be reinforced by new earth stations V/SAT. These powerful new technologies are compatible with future air navigation world system. Considerations has been given, since 2007, to setting-up a second air control center in the country’s southern part.
Upgrading to new operations system, used worldwide and especially in Europ, our main partner will lead to significant advantages in aviation air traffic and transport management . Thus, in European integration will be carried out well before 2010.
Main airports will be equipped with approach radars (Casablanca, Agadir and Fes), control towers and landing strips with beaconing devices and powerful equipment to accommodate worldwide aircraft, no matter what their air safety requirements are.
As far as crisis management is concerned , drills have taken place and consisted of illicit acts against aircraft simulations: ROCO1 and ROCO2 conducted jointly with ICAO. These drills are going to be enriched and sophisticated to offer, around 2007-2008, a true flight accident simulation.
