1 . CURRENT LOCATION
Tan-Tan airport is located at approximately 6 kilometers West of the city. It extends on an expropriation land of 725 hectares.
The airport's reference attitude is 199 meters which corresponds to QFU 21, the highest runway point.
All passing traffic is non regular.
AERONAUTICAL INFRASTRUCTURES AND AIR NAVIGATION AIDS
Infrastructures
The runway is considerably directed North East/South West: QFU 03 and 21. It has a 2.000 meters length by 45 meters width. It is equipped with u-turn at each of the two thresholds.
A taxiway, perpendicular and about halfway the runway, gives access to the aprons.
There are, on each threshold level, a 60 m X 45 m stopway prolongations having the following characteristics:
The airport has one apron with 11.480 m² overall surface allowing the simultaneous parking of three F 28 aircraft.
This area is made of supple pavement and has the same range as the runway. Its old anti-fuel covering is completely out-of-service and It is now bordered with hard shoulders.
Lighting is made of a 22 heigh pole.
Beaconing
The runway is equipped with a luminous side beaconing, bidirectional runway atremity and threshold lights.
The taxiway is equipped with a luminous side beaconing.
Air navigation Aids
The runway is not equipped with an I.L.S.
There is an omnidirectional Radio beacon VHF (VOR) at approximately 1675 m of the QFU 03 southern side, in the runway axis. It is about a SEL 4000, installed 4 years ago.
PASSENGERS AIR TERMINAL AREA
Passengers Air Terminal
The air terminal covers 1600 m2 of the ground allowing the processing of 160.000 passengers a year.
It consists of :
- A 350 m²public hall;
- A 57 m² booking area with 2 banks;
- Safety screeners, 4 on a 57 m² area;
- A 123 m² departure lounge;
- A 68 m² arrivals hall;
- A 105 m² luggage area, without delivery escalators;
- A 21 m² V.I.P lounge;
- A 65 m² Airport manager and airline companies Offices.
Parking Lots
Tan-Tan airport has a 25 V.L passengers car parking slots and 3 bus stop slots located in front of passengers air terminal.
TECHNICAL FACILITIES
Technical unit, control tower
A 209 m2 surface distributed on 4 levels. 39 m2 on ground level and 9,80 m in watchtower height.
Fire safety
Security fire service is located at 380 m of 03 threshold.
2 . PROJECT OBJECTIVE
This project objective consists of :
- Promoting tourist product by ensuring an air traffic service to the future Oued Chbika station;
- Make access to the area easy to the large number of Morrocans residing abroad.
Also, by order of tourism ministry, arrivals objective is 783000 passengers/year.
3 . PROJECT CONSISTENCY
Within this project framework the work consists of :
- Passengers air terminal and various buildings construction;
- Necessary infrastructure construction and its luprading for medium-haull flight reception (Extension « 1000 m », runway, apron, service roadways and parking lots strengthning …);
- Various networks set-up (water, electricity, telephone);
- Air navigation radio equipment (ILS);
- Tower control equipment;
- SSIS equipment (1 truck category 4 and all the necessary facilities including militaty quarters construction);
- Electric equipment /beaconing:
- The beaconing (runway extension side beaconing),
- Lighting (aprons, car-parking lots).
