Errachidia Moulay Ali Chérif airport is located at 3 km in the Northern downtown city area, at the residential area limit.

This airport occupies 217 hectares.

The airport is equipped with aeronautical infrastructures allowing the welcoming of aircraft type 4D and occasionally type 4E.
In term of passengers processing facilities, this platform does not have an air terminal, whereas it receives commercial flights. The achievement of a passengers air terminal on the airport platform of Errachidia aims at developing and completing the national infrastructure in terms off facilities intended for commercial aviation activity able to fulfill the international requirements and standards.

1. PROJECT PRESENTATION

This airport has long been vocation of businesses and private aviation aircraft. Since recently, national and international commercial traffic has started to develop.

Furthermore, it should be noted the willingness of  the Tourism Ministry to promote this destination.

The new air terminal will be sized for the processing of midium-haull flight ATR 42.

2. PROJECT CONSISTENCY

The project consists of achieving a 1.200 m² overall surface air terminal allowing the processing of 140.000 passengers annual traffic . It will be endowed with all the necessary equipment (carousel, internal and external signposts, booking counters, departure and arrival police screens, safety equipment, data-processing equipment…).

The project also provides for the installation of an access roadway and a 100 vehicles parking lot.

This project objective is :

• To promote tourist product by ensuring an air traffic service to the future seaside white beach resort, which belongs to the azure plan;
• To make access to the area easy, to the large number of Morrocans residing abroad;

Also, in term of annual passengers traffic, the objective is 820.000 passagers/per year, it equals a passengers peak hour of 820 passengers/hour.
